Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng has unveiled its 2026 P7 sedan, showcasing a striking new interior that takes technology to the next level. The latest model features an enormous 87-inch augmented reality head-up display – reportedly the largest in its segment – complete with an innovative ‘Touch Pad’ interface.
XPeng’s tech-forward cabin also includes a fresh three-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a rotating infotainment screen. Among its standout features is a voice-activated assistant that can interpret gestures, such as nodding, for more intuitive communication.
The augmented reality head-up display enhances navigation and driver assistance by overlaying useful information directly onto the windshield, while offering augmented reality gaming options when the car is parked safely.
Comfort and convenience receive a boost with front sport seats equipped with active bolsters that respond within 10 milliseconds, adjusting laterally by up to 30mm to support drivers through corners. These seats also provide heating, ventilation, and massage functions, all controllable via the new touch pad, which also manages boot access.
Sporting sleek fastback styling, the P7 arrives first in a rear-wheel drive form powered by a 270kW electric motor. All-wheel drive variants add a 167kW motor on the front axle, delivering a combined output around 437kW.
Battery options include 74.9kWh and 92.2kWh packs, offering a range between 702km and 820km, based on the Chinese CLTC cycle. Thanks to 800-volt silicon carbide electrical architecture, the P7 promises rapid charging, surpassing XPeng’s latest G7 model with the ability to add 436km of range in under 10 minutes.
XPeng’s Australian presence continues to grow this year with an updated G6, alongside the arrival of the G9 large SUV and X9 people mover. The new P7 sedan is anticipated to join the local lineup in late 2026, underlining XPeng’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge EV technology Down Under.
