BYD is set to bolster its presence in the Australian market with the launch of the Atto 2, a new all-electric compact SUV. This model, expected to arrive towards the end of 2025, will slot in below the popular Atto 3, making it a potentially more affordable and urban-friendly option.

Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Atto 2 will be available in two front-wheel-drive variants: Essential and Premium. Both will be powered by the same 130 kW motor and a 51 kWh “Blade” battery pack. While official WLTP range figures are still to be confirmed for the Australian market, the car is expected to have a driving range of over 300 km.

The Atto 2 promises to deliver a premium feel despite its likely competitive pricing.
