The Renault Trafic E-Tech, an electric light commercial van, is set to join its smaller Kangoo E-Tech and larger Master E-Tech siblings in the Australian market. This new model, expected to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026, will be a key addition to Renault’s growing electric commercial vehicle lineup, offering a compelling zero-emissions option for businesses that need a versatile and efficient mid-sized van.
While the Trafic E-Tech shares a similar platform to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, it has been engineered to be a true electric vehicle from the ground up. In Australia, it will be offered with a 52 kWh battery pack, giving it a WLTP driving range of up to 297 km, which is a very strong figure for the segment and makes it a practical option for city and regional deliveries.
The Trafic E-Tech will be available in several configurations to suit a variety of business needs, including both short and long wheelbases. The short-wheelbase model offers 5.8 cubic meters of cargo volume, while the long-wheelbase version provides an even more generous 8.9 cubic meters.
Inside, the Trafic E-Tech features a modern and driver-focused cabin, with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with a suite of safety and driver-assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring.
With its blend of a usable driving range, versatile configurations, and a focus on practicality, the Renault Trafic E-Tech is a serious new contender in the Australian electric van market. Final Australian pricing and specifications will be confirmed closer to the official launch.
