Audi A6 e-tron

Coming Soon

Categories : Audi Coming Soon Electric Vehicles Brand:

The arrival of the Audi A6 e-tron has been eagerly anticipated in Australia, and while it was initially expected in the first half of 2025, it seems the launch has been pushed back slightly. Now slated for a mid-2025 release, the A6 e-tron is poised to replace its petrol and diesel predecessors, marking a new era for Audi’s executive sedan and wagon lineup.

The A6 e-tron is a key model for Audi, as it’s built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, a dedicated EV platform developed in partnership with Porsche. This is the same platform that underpins the Porsche Macan EV and the Audi Q6 e-tron, ensuring the A6 e-tron benefits from the latest in EV technology, including an 800V electrical system for ultra-fast charging.

Audi will offer the A6 e-tron in both a sleek five-door hatchback, which they call the Sportback, and a versatile wagon, known as the Avant. This gives buyers a choice of body styles to suit their preferences, from sporty to practical.

The powertrain options are expected to be diverse, with several variants catering to different performance needs. Both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations are expected, including a high-performance S6 e-tron variant. While Australian pricing and final specifications are yet to be confirmed, we can expect competitive figures based on its platform siblings. The Sportback and Avant are projected to have impressive WLTP ranges of up to 716 km and 685 km respectively, making them very strong contenders in the long-range EV market.
