The BMW iX is the flagship electric SUV from BMW, representing a bold new direction for the brand with its dedicated electric vehicle platform. Available in a diverse lineup of variants, the iX is now undergoing a significant evolution for the 2025 model year, with full details for the Australian market having been revealed.

The updated range introduces larger battery packs and more efficient electric motors across the lineup, promising a significant boost in driving range. For instance, the new base iX xDrive45 M Sport receives a larger 94.8 kWh battery (up from 77 kWh), boosting its claimed WLTP range to over 600 km. This is paired with a more powerful motor delivering 300 kW and 700 Nm of torque, which cuts the 0-100 km/h time down to 5.1 seconds.

Additionally, the flagship iX M70 variant, which replaces the previous M60, sees its battery capacity and motor efficiency enhanced, along with a power increase to a staggering 485 kW and 1,100 Nm of torque, allowing for a blistering 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds.

This updated iX also features a refreshed exterior design with new headlight signatures and an illuminated grille, alongside interior enhancements like the latest iDrive 8.5 infotainment system and optional features like the M Sport appearance package.
