Ford has confirmed that its E-Transit Custom, a smaller, highly versatile electric van, will be arriving in Australia in the third quarter of 2025. This new model will slot in below the existing full-size E-Transit, providing businesses with a more compact and agile option for urban deliveries and logistics.

Built on a new dedicated platform, the E-Transit Custom has been engineered from the ground up for electrification. The Australian lineup consists of two variants, both powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor that produces 160 kW of power and 415 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 64 kWh (usable) battery pack, which provides a WLTP driving range of up to 301 km. DC fast-charging is also supported at speeds of up to 125 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 15% to 80% in as little as 32 minutes.

The E-Transit Custom is available in two wheelbase options, both sharing the same battery and drivetrain:

• The Trend Long Wheelbase (LWB) is priced from $77,590 plus on-road costs and offers a generous 6.8 cubic meters of cargo space and a payload of up to 1,068 kg.
• The Sport Short Wheelbase (SWB), priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs, is equipped with a sport body kit and has a slightly shorter wheelbase, offering 5.8 cubic meters of cargo space and a payload of up to 1,269 kg.

Both models come with a modern and tech-rich interior, featuring a 13-inch landscape touchscreen with Ford’s latest SYNC 4 infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. With its combination of strong performance, competitive range, and versatile configurations, the Ford E-Transit Custom is set to be a formidable new player in the Australian electric light commercial vehicle market.
