As GWM’s first all-electric vehicle in Australia, the Ora has been a key player in making EV ownership more accessible to a wider audience.

GWM has been very proactive with its pricing strategy, recently moving to a nationwide driveaway pricing model to simplify the buying process for customers. They have also been running a number of competitive discounts, with current offers running until September 30, 2025, which makes the Ora one of the most affordable EVs on the market.

The Australian lineup for the GWM Ora now consists of two primary variants: the Standard Range and the Extended Range. Both are front-wheel-drive models, but they are distinguished by their battery size and, consequently, their driving range. The Standard Range model is equipped with a 48 kWh battery, offering a WLTP driving range of 310 km. The Extended Range model steps up with a 63 kWh battery, boosting the WLTP range to an impressive 420 km. Both models are powered by a 126 kW electric motor, providing a lively and responsive driving experience.

It’s worth noting that the sportier Ora GT variant, which was previously available, appears to have been removed from the official GWM Australia website, though it may still be available through some dealers or as a limited-run model. This move has streamlined the lineup, making the choice between the Standard and Extended Range variants simpler for buyers.

Both the Standard and Extended Range models come with a high level of standard equipment, including dual 10.25-inch screens, a wireless phone charger, and a comprehensive suite of safety features, which helped it achieve a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
