LDV, a brand that brought the first all-electric ute to the Australian market with the eT60, is now preparing to launch its next-generation electric ute, the eTerron 9. While the eT60 faced challenges with its high price and limited appeal, LDV is promising the eTerron 9 will be a completely different and far more competitive proposition.

The LDV website and government documents confirm that the eTerron 9 is arriving in Australia. The vehicle is set to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with a focus on both performance and a more premium interior.

The eTerron 9 will be offered with a choice of two powerful drivetrains:

• A Rear-Wheel Drive variant with a single electric motor producing a healthy 200 kW.
• An All-Wheel Drive version with a dual-motor setup that delivers a combined output of 325 kW, giving it a swift 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds.

Both models will be powered by a substantial 102 kWh battery pack, which is a major upgrade and is expected to provide a WLTP driving range of up to 430 km. This is a significant improvement over the eT60’s range and is designed to make the eTerron 9 a more practical vehicle for both work and personal use.

Beyond the powertrain, the eTerron 9 is expected to offer a more luxurious and technology-rich cabin, with features like dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, a premium sound system, and advanced safety features. It is also designed for serious work, with a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg and a payload of between 650 kg and 750 kg, depending on the variant.

The eTerron 9 is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in the second half of 2025, and while final pricing has not been confirmed, it’s clear that LDV is aiming to position it as a serious contender in the growing electric ute segment.
