The all-new Peugeot e-3008, a mid-size electric SUV with a striking fastback silhouette, has had a slightly uncertain path to Australia. While originally earmarked for a 2024 launch and subsequently disappearing from the local website, recent developments suggest the e-3008 is still on the agenda, with an expected arrival in the second half of 2025.

The e-3008 is a significant vehicle for Peugeot, as it is the first to be built on the new STLA Medium platform from parent company Stellantis. This advanced platform is designed to accommodate various powertrain options, and in the e-3008, it delivers impressive performance and range.

The Australian lineup for the e-3008 is expected to include a few key variants, although final specifications and pricing have yet to be confirmed. Globally, the e-3008 is available with a choice of three drivetrains:

• Standard Range Front-Wheel Drive: This model is powered by a single motor with an output of 157 kW. It features a 73 kWh battery pack, which provides a WLTP driving range of up to 525 km. This variant is expected to be the most affordable option.
• Long Range Front-Wheel Drive: This variant also features a single motor, but with a slightly higher output of 170 kW. It is paired with a larger 98 kWh battery pack, which is a major highlight, giving it a WLTP driving range of up to 700 km.
• Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive: For those who want more performance, this variant adds a second motor to the front axle for a combined output of 240 kW and all-wheel drive. It also comes with the 73 kWh battery, giving it a WLTP range of up to 525 km.

Inside, the e-3008 introduces Peugeot’s new Panoramic i-Cockpit, which features a massive, curved 21-inch screen that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system into one seamless display. With its head-turning design, impressive range, and new technology, the e-3008 is set to be a formidable new competitor in Australia’s mid-size electric SUV market, going head-to-head with rivals like the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
