The Porsche Taycan continues to be a benchmark for electric performance vehicles, and the 2025 model year brings a host of significant revisions that solidify its position at the forefront of the segment. These updates touch on virtually every aspect of the car, from performance and charging to design and technology. The Taycan is built on the same advanced 800V platform as the Audi e-tron GT, but it offers a far more extensive range of variants, giving customers more choice.

Key updates for the 2025 model year include:

• Bigger Batteries and More Range: The Taycan now offers larger battery packs. The optional 105 kWh (gross) Performance Battery Plus in the base rear-wheel-drive variant helps it achieve a WLTP driving range of up to 678 km, making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles on the market.
• Faster Charging: The 800V architecture has been optimized to handle DC fast-charging speeds of up to 320 kW, a 50 kW increase over the previous model. This means the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes under ideal conditions.
• More Power and Performance: All 2025 Taycan models accelerate significantly faster than their predecessors. For instance, the entry-level Taycan is now 0.6 seconds quicker from 0-100 km/h, and the dual-motor variants have a rear-biased power distribution for a more dynamic driving feel.

The Taycan lineup also includes the new, track-focused Taycan Turbo GT. This is Porsche’s most powerful production car to date, with a dual-motor setup that delivers a staggering 760 kW and 1,240 Nm of torque in Launch Control. This allows it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in a mind-bending 2.3 seconds, and with the optional Weissach package, that time is reduced to just 2.2 seconds, making it the quickest-accelerating production car on sale in Australia.
