Škoda is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Australia with the new Elroq, a compact SUV that slots in just below the larger Enyaq. Orders are now open for the Elroq, with first deliveries set to begin in September 2025. This model is a significant step for the brand as it’s the first to feature Škoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language.

The Elroq is built on the Volkswagen Group’s versatile MEB platform, which it shares with the Enyaq, as well as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Cupra Born. This foundation gives the Elroq a sophisticated and robust architecture, despite its more compact dimensions.

The Australian lineup for the Elroq consists of two rear-wheel-drive variants, both of which are equipped with the same 82 kWh (usable 77 kWh) battery pack. This large battery allows for an impressive WLTP driving range of up to 529 km. Both variants also share the same powertrain, a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 210 kW of power and a substantial 545 Nm of torque. This is enough to propel the Elroq from 0-100 km/h in a swift 6.6 seconds.

• The entry-level Elroq 85 Select is priced from $54,990 plus on-road costs. While it’s the base model, it comes with a strong list of standard features, including a 13-inch infotainment screen, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, and a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance systems.
• The top-spec Elroq 130 Years Edition is priced from $64,990 plus on-road costs. This variant celebrates Škoda’s history and adds a higher level of interior luxury and technology. It includes a 360-degree camera, an augmented-reality head-up display, Matrix LED headlights, a Canton sound system, and a more premium interior with unique styling touches.

The Elroq’s charging capability is also impressive, with DC fast-charging speeds of up to 175 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes. With its blend of practicality, long range, and a feature-rich interior, the Škoda Elroq is a serious new contender in the competitive Australian electric SUV market.
