The Smart #3 has arrived in Australia, and it’s a sleek, coupé-style SUV that’s a bit larger than its sibling, the Smart #1. It’s longer, wider, and lower, giving it a more athletic and dynamic stance. Built on the same advanced Geely SEA platform as the #1, Volvo EX30, and Zeekr X, the #3 delivers a fun driving experience with a distinctive design.
The Australian lineup for the Smart #3 mirrors the #1, with three variants available. All models share the same 66 kWh battery pack, but they offer different levels of performance and features to suit various drivers.
- The Smart #3 Pro+ is the entry-level model. This rear-wheel-drive variant is powered by a single electric motor that produces 200 kW and 343 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. It has a WLTP driving range of 435 km.
- The Smart #3 Premium features the same rear-wheel-drive powertrain as the Pro+ but adds a host of premium features. This includes a Beats sound system, a head-up display, and a more efficient heat pump, which helps boost its WLTP range to 455 km.
- At the top of the range is the high-performance Smart #3 Brabus. This variant is a true hot hatch, with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that delivers a massive 315 kW of power and 543 Nm of torque. This allows it to rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 3.7 seconds. Its WLTP range is 415 km.
All #3 models come with a modern interior that includes a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced safety technology. With its stylish design, spacious interior, and a choice of efficient or performance-focused powertrains, the Smart #3 is a compelling option in the premium electric SUV coupé segment.
